Mine is Chutters in Littleton. Gourmet malted milk balls. Mmmm.

  1. i would have to agree with Lynda Barry, she has a a vaild point when she talks about no two houses smell the same. When i was younger I would think the same thing, as i entered on of my friends houses. Never once could i ever pick out the smell of my house it was like i was imune to it I always found this fasanating. As for my favorite place to visit because of the its unique smell would have to be non-other than visiting the lake early in the morning as we set up for a day of duck hunting. The fresh dew on the ferns, the smell of ceader from the our duck blind. This is one of my favorite places to visit other than my very own back yard just after i have cut the grass, that smell gets me everytime!

  2. I have so many favorite smells. I really enjoy the smell of the ocean and the air right before it rains. But nothing tops my great grandparents house. My meme and pepe. I havn't smelled their smell for a long time because they have both past away. I used to love spending the night with my grama and wearing her nightgown. Their smell was comforting and safe. A couple years ago I found one of my grandfather's shirts that I must have worn home from his house when I was like six and I just remember how much I wanted it to smell like him still. Smelling their smell brings back tons of memories of them which is comforting as well as sad.

  3. my favorite place to visit would have to be the olive garden. OMG!! I love that place. When you walk in, the first thing that you smell is the most amazing thing on the planet. breadsticks. then it just gets better and better when you get the salad. As I sit here with my belly yelling at me and the smell of the snake bar, I am trying to imagine the olive garden and it isnt working. Anyone up for a ride to Burlington?

  4. There are so many different smells that i love like the smell of freshly cut grass, but I love going to my grandmothers house. There are so many different smells in her house and i love it. My favorite by far is when she is baking or cooking. There is always some freshly baked good that fills her house with such a pleasant aroma. When I was younger me and my sister always had to stay at her house after school since our parents worked. I would always walk in to something in the oven and it was always so warm and inviting. And if there is nothing in the oven there is always some sort of flower or incense filling the room. The best part is that she lives just up the road from my house so I can go there anytime I please.

  5. I would have to agree with Lynda when she talks about every house having a different smell. The smell of my Great Grandmother’s house is kind of indescribable. I associate the smell of her house with older people. I’ve walked into other elderly people’s homes and they have the same sort of smell.
I noticed that my aunt and uncles new house smells much different than my Nana and Papa’s new house, but they are the same style house. As for the smell of my house-I have never really noticed that my house has a specific smell, but it must.
My favorite smell is the scent of the ocean. Lying in the sun on the beach with the scent of the ocean is very relaxing to me. Another smell that I find relaxing is the smell of clothes when they have been hanging outside on the clothes line all day. The smell of the fresh air mixed with the smell of the laundry detergent reminds me of my mom- which is, at times, comforting.

  6. My favorite smell would have to be the smell of my best friends house. Everytime I enter the house no matter what time of day or what time of year it always smells like a wood stove. The smell brings back so many great memories. All winter long I would spend every night at my friends house and as the wood stove heated up we all flocked to it. We would sit around the wood stove while talking about anything and everything. When the wood fire died we would feed it more logs. Laughing as the embers spirted out the door. The memories are always triggered by the smell of wood stoves. When there is a wood stove around my friends and I always flock to it

  7. Although I can't say I've ever smelled a house that smelled like grease and pigs and cigarettes, I can say I have noticed that everyones house smells different. I would say though that I have a few favorite places that smell good. First one may be weird, but I strangely enough enjoy the smell of gas stations. Not the inside, but the smell of gasoline sometimes smells good. Weird right? Most of the other places I like all smell good because they are some sort of bakery or restaurant, like Subway. I have to say though, my brothers apartment, which smells like some sort of incense, smells amazing. I think his wife gets some home-made incent sticks that I really wish I had.

  10. would have to completely agree with Lynda Barry. I fully understand what she means about there being no two same smells within people's houses. Her story of Common Scents brought up one of my past memories of walking up the stairs of my best friend's house, and immediately realizing that their house, as well as all of his family members smelled a certain way. It wasn't anything like me or my house at all. After that day i thought about it more and more, and i could never find any other houses that smelt similar. Well thinking about my favorite smell of a house i like to visit because of it's smell, i would have to say my grandmother's house, she used to always make cheese fondu, and i loved the smell of it and it's taste was amazing.

  11. I would say that my favorite smell is when I'm driving along and I smell a freshly mowed lawn. I can;t explain why I like that smell but I have for as long as I can remember. Another one of my favorite smells is when I smell something that has been cooking in garlic. It is my favorite seasoning and the smell is amazing!

  12. I can't quite say I have only one favorite. The smell of my grandmother's house will always bring back fond memories. Like Lynda Barry, my grandma was always cooking goodies that produced an unique scent, although the ones my grandma made were not so odd. It was a mix between delicious food and my grandpa's colonge, which I can still smell today even when it's been years since I've stepped foot in that house. Now though, I would have to say that the smell of the cold crisp December air in muzzleloading season is like no other. It's almost like the smell of nothing at all; real freshness. I love it.

  15. The place that i love the most is the gas station, this may seem bizzarre to most but there are a select few that share this love with me. If you get luckey and catch a Mobile with a Dunken' Donuts', the smell of freshley brewed coffee is the best. The main reason why i love the smell of gas stations is why everyone tells me im crazy. It is when im pumping gas into my car and i get the light auroma of gas,it is just such a wierd and far fetched smell that it is a adventure every time i go there. I love the smell of gas stations pretty damn wierd huh?

  16. My favorite smell is the smell of my boyfriends house. When I enter his house the smell makes me feel comforted, welcomed, and like I belong. No matter how much I try I can't describe the smell of his home; its the smell of him and his family. This smell brings back memories I have enjoyed a lot, it makes me smile and allows me to relax and feel like I belong.

  17. My favorite place to visit because of the smell would be my kitchen during the fall about early October. When I was younger I used to love getting out of my soccer games on a cold sunday afternoon and going home with my dad to watch the patriots game. I would always get home to a nice warm kitchen with scent of my mothers freshly cooked homemade meatballs lingering in the air. This added to how much I love soccer, and it also added a much needed flavor to the football games to have fresh homemade meatballs to go along with. some sundays if i was lucky she would make cookies too. Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies which are my favorite. That scent to me is the most comforting thing in the world to know that after a rough game I was home warm safe and able to relax finally.

  18. I think i am most fond of the scent of my grandparents house. The scent seems to change with the seasons. For example during the summer my grandparents house is filled with the smell of burning coals from the barbbeque. while in the fall the house is filled with the scent of a turkey dinner and all of the pies seem to over power everything else. I think i enjoy the smell of their house becaue it creates a feeling of comfort and relaxation for me.
